    This is not in not in my shop. It surfaced in California and it tested just out side of the brackets on a sigma. The guy is new at the shop and he thought it was ok. He sold it to the local wholesaler and the wholesaler sold it to a smaller shop and that shop tested it and it would not test so he returned it to the wholesaler.

    Then the wholesaler tested it with their $16,000 gun. It read .98 fine
    So They tore into it and this is what they found.

    Ii have a customer who only wants bars. Most recently he reluctantly took two Saints in MS instead. He will bring the good stuff back as soon as more bars come in. That is odd to me, but he’s not into numismatics just the lowest price to spot. Can anyone blame him ? .9167 And .9678 oz vs 1 Oz .999

    Vintage double eagles are .900 fine and .9675 ounce.
