Way to go! Those silver halves are mighty elusive, and far n few between.

A Franklin half is a rare find. In my ten years of metal detecting I've found three Barber halves, four Walking Liberty halves, and even a 40% Kennedy half; but, I've never found a Franklin half. I suspect that they were shallow and easy targets for detectorists in the 1960s and 70s.

I looked back thru my records. In 20+ years I’ve dug 8 half dollars. 1 Walker, 1 Franklin, 1 40% Kennedy and 5 clad Kennedy’s.

I had a decent October, but not as good as your Franklin half:
