With that toning its hard to tell from pics. I will say 65.

Very hard to judge based on the photograph. I can’t tell if the artifact seen just in front of the eyebrow is a hit or break in the toning. If it’s a hit it would greatly detract from the grade. If it’s simply a break in the toning it’s a 66. If it’s a hit it drops to a 62.

Grading from a" juiced" picture with toning ontop of it is a crapshoot. Just a WAG at 65 FBL

I'd guess 64. Not a whole lot of detail on the bell on the reverse.

    1. Weak struck reverse? Hard to tell.

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

The marks in the obverse field at 2:00 keep it from 66 - 65 imo.

If we were all the same, the world would be an incredibly boring place.

    1. The coin is too "mottled" with the reverse looking weak near the center.

Impossible to accurately assess this toned Franklin from a photo.

I would opine that the grade is likely between AU55 and MS64 (I see too many hits in the prime focal areas on the obverse to give it a 65).

Only an in hand inspection of the coin, under good lighting, with a 10x loupe would allow a person to arrive at a grade opinion that has a solid foundation.

So, privatecoin, do not keep us in suspense. What is the grade?

My initial thought was 64 and Om thinking no FBL

Thanks for playing everyone. I've studied this coin like crazy, but I can't determine what they saw.

Nice coin overall and undervalued in that holder imo

The mark is right before your face, staring you straight in the eye omo

Usually when it.leaves a mark, the wheel of a counting machine slides causing a curved arc of a scratch or broader brush

    Sometimes it "catches and scuffs"

Looks like the wheel mark is from near the top of the head near the R going diagonally down into the hair.
