The day the Pittsburgh Pirates retired his #8. Wanted to share this video. There is some pretty cool footage of the player who hit the last home run in the 1970's.

The live call to Willie from Ronald Reagan was something.

I had trouble understanding the audio there. Do you have a summary of what he said?

I enjoyed the video. Thank you!

When things like this pop up on here, I try to take it as an opportunity to learn a little more.

I know Stargell, of course, but I was very young when he retired, so I did some reading on him.

I did some reading about the focus of much of the video, which is the fact that that particular day was, at the request of Stargell, a food drive for unemployed steel workers.

I found the interviews with the fans to be interesting.

I dont know very much of what Reagan said but he talked for several minutes. I noticed Franco Harris on the stage with the Pirates players.

I did not realize Stargell hit the last home run of the 70's. that is interesting.

would be neat to see a list from every decade.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
