1891 $2 Treasury Note - $295 shipped OBO
Offered for sale is an 1891 $2 Treasury Note. These notes were authorized as a result of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act in 1890 - these notes were redeemable for silver or gold, but the price of silver quickly fell out of balance with gold. The resulting run on the Treasury's gold stock heavily contributed to the Panic of 1893.
The $1 is fairly common - the $2 and up not so much. This note has a small internal tear and a few pinholes as seen in the last image, but is otherwise quite solid for a lower grade note. Offered for $295 shipped, but I am glad to consider offers.
payment - venmo, cashapp, paypal, zelle, mailed check
