Here is one I wish PCGS would nuke the cert for...

These are showing up in all venues- bad 2021-cc "PCGS" Morgan $'s with the same cert number.
These latest 2 are from FB MP and Mercari:
No way to report on Mercari, I went to the source for whatever good it will do...

While the genuine coin is presumably still out there, unaccounted for, is "nuking the cert" something PCGS does?
Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, "Meditations"
Apparently I have been awarded the DPOTD twice.
They have; this is one they handled similar to NGC:
Nuking the Cert really does no good. The slimeballs that are doing this will just move on to another cert number. The heart of the problem needs to be dealt with, not nuking the cert numbers.
I disagree; at least a potential buyer who knows no better will see there is a problem when he does a lookup. I have no faith that anyone can actually deal with the real problem although a noble sentiment.
I doubt anyone who is fooled by that coin is going to even know what the cert number means much less bother to look it up.
So, whoever has the genuine coin with that cert # is SOL?
Good question.
If I realized that I had a PCGS coin with a 'nuked/deactivated' cert number, I would contact PCGS, just like the screenshot above recommends. Assuming that mine was the authentic one, I would guess that resolution involves a (complimentary) reholder, and a new cert number.
Edited for clarity.
My understanding is our host will make arrangements for re-certifying for the genuine example owner.
This one was listed today but ended when a Member here sent him an image of the deactivated cert I showed above...
