The Bad. I won an item at Great Collections on October 1st, I mailed a check on October 2nd. By two weeks later, on October 16 th ,they still had not received the check. I paid for the lot by credit card on that day.
The Ugly. I doubt that they will ever receive the check.
The Good. Great Collections mailed the lot on Tuesday October 17th and I received it today October 19th.
There have been problems with letters out of here for a while. Packages seem to go through fine.

If you want to expect more from the USPS stand in line.
They can be brilliant. with their service at times, but when they are bad, they are BAD!
There was too much downsizing over the last 30 years, including closing post offices, pulling collection boxes, and not providing sufficient window service, all in the attempt to save money.
Look at the carnage they have left behind.
They even closed outgoing letter mail processing centers, moved them to central locations, and extended one day delivery to 2 days because of it,..... some of the processing centers are nowhere near the offices they are responsible for.
,
I painfully saw it all as it unfolded, helpless to do anything to stop it.
So here we are.
Retirement is the best gift I ever got from them.

I have had 3 similar situations this year including just recently I got a notification from my bank on my business account that a bank check had not be deposited yet after 1 month. Well, I had no idea a dealer did not receive or cash my check (because it still hasn’t arrived almost 45 days later). Well, it’s not the easiest thing to stop payment/cancel a bank check as the money is taken out of the account as soon as the check is printed (I ran out of checks of course). Long story short, I was able to finally send a fresh check to the dealer and all is well, but what a hassle.
It takes paying for priority mail to (hopefully) get the same level of service you used to expect from first class. First class is really bad now. One example-A birthday card sent to me from Cincinnati on the 4th arrived in IL on the 13th.
RIP Mom- 1932-2012
check washing followed by forgery is happening now. be alert
Sounds like Great service if a package arrived in 2 days. Nice when things like that happen.

We had 6 letters stolen out of a drop box earlier this year. One check was raised to several thousand dollars and cashed. The bank reimbursed us two days later. We now park and deposit mail inside the P.O.
One of the problems is TINA, "there is no alternative" unless you have an account with Fed-x they don't insure packages, at least that's what they told me. I just don't ship that much to justify getting an account.
And forget about USP, I consider them a big box delivery company.
Whenever I have to mail something expensive I always ship Registered Mail, and then I wait about a week for it to get their, but it's the safest way to ship.
If you have other alternatives please chime in
