They also made the IOM circulating coinage until they lost the contract to the Tower Mint. Some very nice designs.
In 1970, just before decimalization, the IOM produced a Cat crown. Do you know what mint issued this crown? Answer, if not stated will be given later.
Yep. Good bye Falkland Islands, South Georgia, British Antarctic Territory, etc.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with great sadness that Managing Director Taya Pobjoy has announced her official retirement and the closure of Pobjoy Mint after 58 years of manufacturing official currency and commemorative coins. The Mint closure will take place at the end of 2023 so customers will have a chance to complete their collections for the full year with some releases being brought forward to allow plenty of time for collectors to buy them.
A Message from Pobjoy Mint's Managing Director
"I've made the big decision to retire this year. My prime objective is to give the customers our service until the end and to make sure that they get a complete year because we all know that coin collecting is an annual thing with a date change. So it's been very much on my mind when making this decision to make sure I give a good service to the very end to my customers..."
