Playing around with closeup photos. Not easy to do!!

Images of a 4ddo 1971-S Proof Ike - First two are from a microscope, others are from a 150MM macrozoom. Either way, very tough to capture good images showing the doubling. Lighting in critical and also very tough.

Lighting has always been an issue for me when doing macro shots. Have not played with a microscope yet for pictures.

Proofs don't make the job any easier. With the extreme contrast of a proof you want to soften the light a bit. Try to light the field up a little to reduce the contrast. That should cause the exposure to be reduced and should eliminate those oversaturated parts. The pink fringes may be longitudinal chromatic aberrations from not being perfectly in focus or they may be detector issues dealing with the saturation next to darker pixels.
