Help in valuing a Montana blank back proof card

A friend picked this up at a flea market long ago, He's not really into cards, and wonders what it might be worth. It's a 1990 Pro set Joe Montana, his regular card - but after a bit of research, I discovered it's a Proof card. The back is blank. I saw a 7.5 actually sell on ebay for over $700, yet see an ungraded one listed for $49. It seems very few are listed or sold. Any ideas on price? I believe it would easily grade as a NM.

A little bit too much of a hokey listing to me with the BS Finest sticker thing, but I guess BGS grades it, I don't think PSA does since it is not in the database to enter it for submission.

Looks like same seller has another in a CSG slab with another BS sticker on it!

And here's a batch of 33! (another 33 pack sold for $99) https://www.ebay.com/itm/125497616207?
I always thought that blank backs were not that desirable, especially since PSA doesn't grade them in most instances.... Seems like a waste of time to me since it isn't high grade (NM=7). You are basically looking for a sucker or oddball collector who doesn't value money when it comes to collecting.
Welcome to the boards.
These are great cards!
I collect what I like and couldn't care less if PSA refuses to grade them. PSA is so inconsistent in grading blank backs and proofs it's ridiculous.
It would appear that with one seller having 33 copies, they are not that rare, although I think Pro Set might have produced several billion (trillion?) football cards that year.
You have a sale of $700.00. Not surprising since buyers get excited about unusually hard to find items.
Raw, the card isn't going to be worth hundreds of dollars, unless you find an "oddball" collector with a big budget.
I would get it graded by SGC or Beckett and see what it graded. Don't be surprised if it comes back a 5.
Good luck to you and your friend. If I collected Joe Montana, I would want this card...........maybe not for $700.00, but I would want it!
Thanks guys. I'll figure out some price, stick it on ebay, and see if a hardcore Montana or oddball collector stumbles upon it.
Please realize that there is one on ebay for $8.04 right now.

Exactly why I suggested getting it graded.
