Thanks for looking.

Also if you look on the back and front they don't match up but misaligned.

I don't know why no one has mentioned it yet, but that is not a "jefferson half", but instead has Benjamin Franklin on it. I'm not certain what advice you might be looking for, but it appears to be mint state and has rather unattractive staining on it.

I was thinking the same thing... but Jefferson might be part of the whole zombie component - after all the 1950s produced some classic sci fi- Perhaps Invasion of the Body Snatchers was premature for 1955

The toning should dip off. I also noticed that is a Bugs Bunny Variety. The reverse having a slight rotation is not enough to carry any kind of premium.

I don't think it's rotated much. It looks like 10 degrees in the photos but if you look at the 2x2 edges, the 2x2 is rotated between the images.

Just some unsightly toning, only worth junk silver price.

Looks to me like staining/environmental damage from improper storage. If there is a slight misalignment of the dies, it appears to be too insignificant to add any value to the coin. Imo you're looking at about 8-10$.

  • Thanks Ownerofawheatiehoard,

I do also like the wheaties, early morning for me.

Mainly wondered if it was due to oil in the die strike.

    Many thanks

That staining is just some ugly toning. A judicious quick dip by someone who knew what they were doing would make that go away. The piece also looks BU and appears to be a Bugs Bunny.

  • Thanks DeplorableDan,

Advice is always welcome, just looked 7x and there is a slight bugs bunny teeth, forgot about bugs.

    Many thanks

  • Apologies Franklin.

  • Nice if the staining had colours 👌

I would probably dip it. Was going to mention Bugs Bunny but looks like you've got it.

That coin to me would be worth much more then $7.92

I was thinking the same thing about the dipping. I'm just not sure if the stain is baked into the surface. If it is, a dip will destroy that coin!

    It's a bugs bunny.
