What do you think this old soapbox Morgan would grade today?

maymay Posts: 1,590 ✭✭✭✭✭

There is no use for a guess the grade, because I have already showed this guy off multiple times. What do you think, in today’s grading standards would this Morgan grade out as? Thank you. :)

    1. I sure do love them old ANACS holders. They’ve made me a lot of money over the years.

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

I think it's graded properly and should be left in its current slab.

A slim shot at 64, more than likely to stay at 63 imo. Either way there is not enough value to offset the fees, best left in this holder so that when you sell you can hype the old holder and let the next guy take the gamble.

I like it at 64 but in my opinion there is too much chatter in the obverse fields to go higher than that. Still an attractive coin but its not something I'd try to crack out.

This date comes in superb gem and higher grades. MS66 is common and not a budget buster, so why even think of resubmitting a 63 for a higher grade? These particular ANACS holders are usually accurately graded, situated between the smaller ANA holders and modern clear plastic ones. Keep this as is, it’s a nice coin at that grade with only an outside shot of 63+.

I used to collect all of my Morgan’s in the smaller ANACS holders back in the day. Not too many still out there, as many have been cracked out, like most of mine…

Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

I apologize for my terrible photos, after I updated my phone everything’s gone bad. I have no intention of cracking it out, I love soapboxes. Thank you all for your opinions.

Could go 64 on a good day. Very solid for the grade at 63 though.

I love it as a 3 if i'm the buyer, but If I were the seller I think it belongs in a 4 holder.
