"Mint errors" from private mints generally aren't as desirable for collectors - simply because the mint operator is free to make whatever "errors" they wish. Unlike a government mint, they have no incentive to pretend that mint errors are undesirable or don't exist.
I have a friend who made medals as a hobby. He'd happily make whatever errors you wanted - wrong planchet, off-centre, mule, broadstruck, any "error" that didn't actually put the machinery at risk could be requested. Which of course means it's not really an error any more, is it?

Why oh why are you holding it like that? It won't stay nice and shiny for long.
Anyway, it's a fun novelty for sure.

Jeez, deleted post and private profile - why even bother?
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
He had posted pictures of a generic silver round (buffalo nickel design) that was struck 5-10% off center.
(It was resting in his palm or fingers, which just does not seem right to me).
The rest of the replies might make sense now.![:) :)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Why are we here again?
for some reason, stackers of rounds & ASEs don't want them discolored unless they are vividly colred. Worse? Fingerprints.
even though it's bullion, still only hold it by the edge
sorry I missed the O/C pic. haven't seen one like it.
