Anyone Have Experience Buying Coins From Auction Kings?

I see many coins advertised for auction on EBay by this company both certified and raw. Anybody get good deals from their auctions? There coins are obviously juiced up and overexposed in their photos. What say you who have dealt with them good or bad.

Completely agree with jmlanzaf. Ruins the hobby on the bay.

Why would you want to buy coins based on juiced photos? Even if there are good deals, you would never know if you are getting one or not.

Most times it’s best to not risk it. However, I’ve seen them list a few coins that were previously in other auctions (like GC or Heritage). If I liked it from the GC/HA photos and the price stayed reasonable, it’s fairly safe to bid.

Fair point. But there are just so many trustworthy folks out there, I don't feel like wasting my time with people that I can't trust.

images in many European auctions are "juiced", meaning overexposed into white and grey tones with an "appropriately suitable for the purpose" background. It is done to hide impairments on the coins.

Auction Kings in my opinion needs to be shut down for their deceptive representations. That will not happen as long as people keep buying from them.
Auction Kings is on my short list of 'absolutely do not buy from.'

    Collector, occasional seller

The fewer people that buy from them, the better the deals ;)

But yeah, their photos are awful. If the coin has a trueview you can still buy without worry though.

Yeah, they are terrible. I refuse to buy from them and they are blocked from all of my searches.

I agree that it’s better to work with the trustworthy sellers.

I mainly avoid this seller but there were one or two coins I saw that I wanted after missing out at GC. I didn’t win since the auction went higher than I wanted to go (and above the GC result).
