1985/1986 Garbage Pail Kids

Hi all, I am from the Netherlands and recently found my old collection of Garbage Pail Kids in the attic. I am a total noob when it comes to this, so I thought I would go on a forum, where someone might want to help me.

I got series 1 cards, in Dutch. Most of them with names written on the back in my childhood penmanship. Curse that 10 year old me ;-)

Then I got series 2 cards and further, in English, but as I understood they may be UK cards. The stickers are rectangular and cover the whole card. On US ebay and pricecharting the stickers seem ‘cut out’ at the front. Thats different than my cards.

A general question I have, is what does it do to the value of the card if there’s a name on the back? The series 2 and higher cards have a lot of cards in very good condition, but some with a name on it.

I got about 200 cards in total. Anyone have a good idea on where to sell them? Selling them one by one sounds like work to me.

Thanks!
Edo

Your best bet for selling them would probably be ebay. U don't have to sell them individually you can list them as a lot. The ones with names on the back definitly hurts the value but some collectors never look at the back so they wouldn't be bothered by it others cringe at the thought. Good luck. I might be interested myself if I could see pics maybe I'll find your listing on ebay I'll keep an eye out.

  • Thanks! I’ll probably put them up on eBay then. I can send you some pictures in a couple of hours.

Unfortunately, if there is writing on the back, the cards will be of very little value.

  • Yeah I expected as much. It’s mostly the Dutch cards, series 1, that have writing on it. I’ll count the English cards to see how many have writing and how many don’t.
