Building a reminder app for coin collectors, looking for feedback!

Hello everyone! I'm Art, a hobbyist-numismatist who also works full-time in IT. My journey into the world of coin collecting was largely influenced by my dad, who's a skilled coin restorer. Today, I'm excited to share a project that's been brewing in my mind for quite some time...

Disclaimer: I'm genuinely seeking feedback from coin collectors and numismatists, and not trying to sell anything (because there's just nothing to sell yet haha)

In a nutshell, I'm currently in the process of working out an idea for my new app. Just recently, I took the plunge and launched a website to provide an overview of its features – you can take a look it out at https://coinlectic.com

My biggest goal right now is to get your insights and opinions on Coinlectic._ I want to understand what potential users might think about my app, ascertain the value it can bring to the coin-collecting community, and help me determine if any app adjustments or pivots are necessary._ Your thoughts, no matter how big or small, would be immensely appreciated.

**P.S: ** If you want to see a prototype of the app, we can schedule a 20-30-minute meeting to talk about it in depth. That actually be ideal! So, if you decide to do that, I'd be happy to give you a free one-year access to the app once I release a beta.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and hope you hear back from you!

In all honesty, I don’t see the need for the app, since all one has to do is “Watch” the lot, as the auction sites send email reminders. I use GC, Heritage, DLRC, etc. As someone from the older generation, I also physically write a note on my calendar for the date, time, and max hammer to bid.

A day without fine wine and working on your coin collection is like a day without sunshine!!!

My collecting “Pride & Joy” is my PCGS Registry Dansco 7070 Set:

Hey Steve!** Thank you so much for your invaluable input! **

I'm gathering insights from collectors like you about any issues they face with their daily numismatic activities on PCs or mobile. So far, many collectors mentioned wanting better organization tools, because often things are messy and a bit chaotic.

Some collectors express that it's difficult to find accurate provenance when trying to trace a coin...

**Do you encounter any similar challenges in your numismatic pursuits? **

I'll find any of your thoughts valuable!

Yes, tracking provenance of prior owners is VERY difficult. All I see if the auction listing shows it, and most don't, other than Heritage and Stacks, and I believe they then typically only show the most recent, if it's a popular name.

That ability, if accurate and "somewhat" complete, would indeed be of value.

Tracking when my lots of interest come up, not so much.
