How about a baseball rumor? J.D. Drew to S.D???

The San Diego Union reported the Padres and Cardinals sides discussed a five-player deal. The newspaper said San Diego would get outfielder J.D. Drew and pitcher Bud Smith, and St. Louis would get pitcher Brian Lawrence, Class AAA pitcher Dennis Tankersley and outfielder Bubba Trammell. The Cardinals also targeted pitcher Brett Tomko. In the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Cardinals GM Walt Jocketty denied he's considering dealing pitcher Smith and Drew to the Padres.

    The Cardinals are also talking about aquiring Chuck Finley from Cleveland, and it looks like the deal is pretty far along, Stay tuned.

    Yeah, they need to trade Trammell. He's not getting any playing time.
