1921 Morgan Dollar, is it the best it can be or can it be helped.

I just received this one, a 21 S and a 23 S Peace Dollar from a friend that doesn’t collect and knew that I collect and I’m not sure what to do with them. I do know they are low grade but I want to save them from anymore harm as best I can. Thanks

The coin looks AU and nothing can help it grade higher or appreciably increase it’s value.

Even though you reference several coins in the body of your post, i'll only address the 1921 that you provided pictures of.
Leave it alone, its only worth a few bucks over spot and nothing will change that.

Thanks Mark and Dan, I will enjoy this one as it is. It is my first Morgan Dollar that I’ve held. I like them and will probably start looking for more.
See this area? Can you confirm that it's a stain on the coin that resembles an "S", touching the O in "Dollar" ? Im probably just suffering from pareidolia but I want to make sure.

Very common look back in the day when we carried these in our pockets and purses. Looks to have been in a leather purse for a few weeks. I never had one that long.....lol

vegas baby!
@DeplorableDan
A stain Dan. There is a Die Crack running Horizontally at the top and in between the E and D of United. I have been looking at the different VAM’s but haven’t quite figured it out yet. I have lots of time ( hope anyway ) so I will continue to study this one and enjoy spending the time to learn about what I’m finding out to be a terrific series.
Thanks, have fun with your new coins![:) :)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)

Thanks mark. Bob, I bet you are right as I received the coin from a friend in her late 60’s that said these have been in the family since her grandmother.
Rim ding and dent around the 8:30 to 9:30 area
Stick it in a flip and save it
They're fun and easy to collect. Well, except that, while most of them are pretty common (so not expensive in reasonably high grades), at least 30 of them are quite expensive in high grades.
Before you embark on collecting them, perhaps it would be a good idea to see how much you're getting into, cost-wise, and perhaps tailor your goals to your budget (e.g., if your budget is limited, consider some sort of short set, like a date set).
@1madman @124Spider Thanks for the input both of you. I sure do like the size and weight of them. I agree, this one will stay in a flip and maybe think about a AU Short set of not so expensive ones.
