My brother is thinking of selling his Morgans he bought 30+ years ago. Most of them are in this type of holder
Is there a premium for these or only for rattlers?

Yes, there is a premium for OGHs. I'd recommend sending them to CAC first, as that could add significant value. If he uses an auction house or major dealer, they are usually happy to handle that as part of the process.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
If you are interested, it appears to be a PCGS GEN 3.0 holder.
The "tell' - the slash through the "0".
Yes there is a premium and if it’s a nice looking coin (which that example appears to be), that helps.
Nice looking Morgan, I like 👍
+1, that one looks like a nice coin too. OGH + CAC is winning combination for an auction consignor.

Depends on the buyer. Ogh usually does have a premium... Sometimes smaller sometimes bigger. If you can find a dealer or auction house they will often give you their opinion if it might CAC or not, and as noted by others many larger auction houses will even submit for you.

How many is in the collection? If they have been sitting for 30 years then they ALL should go to CAC. before potential sale to maximize earnings.
Put them here on the BST!
No time like the present Don!
OGHs usually have a nice premium, especially for higher grade Morgans like that blazer.
The majority of collectors prefer OGH to Blue
I’d send them to Great Collections and have them send them to CAC prior to auction.
SEND MORE PICTURES!! I want to see every single one of them LOL.
Maybe we can tell you if any of them are key dates, etc. Front and back pls.
100% not so I can drool (metaphorically) over them.
My brother said he'll get more images tonight. I can't guarantee how good they'll be though.
He has MS63, MS64, MS65, and MS66 Morgans.

Now that we've been provided dates, grades, and the number of coins, I believe the best way to receive fair value (obviously just MY opinion) is to consign them to Great Collections (GC). Offering them on the BS&T forum would likely involve packing and shipping several packages, maybe even as many as eight, and dealing with individuals. As noted, if it were me, I'd go with GC for the ease, convenience, and peace of mind.
Ignoring the value of the older holders, a ROUGH estimate is these eight coins are worth about $1,500 - $2,000 retail. For me, the easier decision was selecting GC. A tougher decision is to decide whether or not to have GC submit them to CAC for stickering (NOT for Grading) before listing them in auction. A rough sense is that would likely (but not necessarily) be recovered by obtaining higher pricing. If it were me, I WOULD have GC submit them (the cost for CAC stickering would be roughly $176 or so in total). I believe coins that succeed in getting CAC stickers would draw a lot more people watching (and bidding) than if they did not have CAC stickers. Naturally, once you show the images over the next day or two on this forum (hopefully good quality images), you'll hear from others if they think the coins would succeed in getting stickered.
I'm sure others will follow with their thoughts, so take those suggestions into consideration too. The above is just my two cents worth.

Mmmmmm yes please
Very solid advice. I PERSONALLY would sell the coins myself to save on auction fees, but I 100% understand why someone wouldn't want to.
That's one way to get rid of the premium
Here are the images I received from my brother. I have not seen the coins in person and my brother is not a professional coin imager, he's just an engineer.

I think they look pretty good. Many collectors looking for Morgan's in these grades will be happy. If it were me, I'd still have GC submit them for CAC stickering before they list them on auction to increase the number of bidders..

Those are some very nice looking coins, and the holders are also in great shape which is important as well.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Well, you can relay to him that he did a way better job with images than the majority of collectors could do .
Regarding the coins, they look good and I surmise that he will have some positive results if these go the GC w/CAC route, I agree with @winesteven.

Absolutely 💯 they all need to go to cac.
These all look good. Several of them look pretty darn cherry for their grades. I agree that a CAC trip is in order...pretty decent pics but in hand I think there is a reasonable shot for at least one gold bean.
