For those interested in Carolina gold, if you're ever in Chapel Hill, NC, you can see a collection of Bechtler gold in the North Carolina room at the Wilson Library.
The library also has quite a collection of coins:

Enjoy!

I love Bechtler coins. Those all look cleaned?
I am afraid you are right.
Why do those coins look off to me, could they be reproductions of genuine for security reasons
Hope the case is theft-proof.
Bechtlers are so tough to find with original surfaces, but when they're original I love the wild colors they take on. Majority there do look sorta bright, some worse than others. What is holding them up, staples?

someone needs to donate better coin holders
Maybe they could pick some up at the yard sale after the Bass Collection was decommissioned!
That's also how the Smithsonian holders their coins on display.

I’ve noticed that as well. Wouldn’t want to display my coins like that, though. Metal to SOFT METAL.😩
Had no idea the university had this on display… looks like a visit is in order.
Are they real coins? Almost looks like replicas, no?
