Star Basketball Crossovers (BGS to PSA)

I have a handful of Star Co. basketball cards from the 1980s that were graded by BGS that I'd like to have in PSA slabs. Does anyone have experience crossing these cards over? Do BGS and PSA grade these cards similarly?

Another question for those in the know. Are all 80's Star Basketball cards available to grade by PSA now? If I remember right, PSA was only grading a specific year when they started grading Star.
Apparently they are now. https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com/psa-grading-1980s-star-company-basketball-cards/

I wouldn't send them in inside a BGS slab but I also would never buy a raw Star basketball card. You can argue about Beckett's grading criteria for Star all you want (and I've got one or two bones to pick) but they're excellent at identifying fakes from authentics.
I would buy BGS (cheaper) and then crack out and send to PSA.

What I have seen from the crossover from BGS to PSA with Star Basketball is a full grade less than the originally grade from BGS. Example BGS 8, you might get a 7 or even a 6.5. The silver lining is the Star basketball in a PSA holder will bring more money to you.
Absolutely agree with the previous comments, I would crack them and send to PSA. Each company grades differently, so you never know...but crossing them over normally results in same or lesser grades. For example, I have a Jordan Star Court Kings with a raw grade of 7...but it was the 60/40 centering driving it down. It's now encased in gorgeous PSA slab as an 8, exactly what it should be with a far more accurate grade IMHO.
I cracked out this 1984-85 Isiah Thomas BGS 8 and as you can see it received a PSA 7.
Cracked out of a BGS 7.5
what exactly makes the walton a 6? the 7.5 made more sense.
My guess is the corners, hard to tell, but top right looks bunk.
Doesn’t look like a 6 to me, 7 all day. Top left knocks it down from an 8
