1892 Barber Quarter GTG

Morgan13Morgan13 Posts: 1,350 ✭✭✭✭✭

I purchased this coin because of its amazing luster. As they say "buy the coin not the holder".
I'm just trying to have some fun with my coins. Sharing them is part of it.
I'm definetly going to put together a barber set. I love the reverse.
Can anyone guess the grade?

I'm thinking 62 or 63. Hard to judge the surfaces from the photos. I'll take your word on the luster, but the photos to me show muted luster on a dipped coin.

Need a Barber Half with ANACS photo certificate. If you have one for sale please PM me. Current Ebay auctions

It’s difficult to provide a meaningful grade guess when we don’t know what the coin looks like.

The images I posted make the luster look a little subdued. I took them in low light. This shows the beautiful luster much better.

    Nice Barber, I'll say 64.

Strictly from the pictures, I see a nice AU58 coin.

Looks better than a 62 to me.

    Dipped AU58 in a 62 holder.

There look to be a lot of contact marks on the face and the neck. And, while you described the luster as "amazing", none of the pictures show it as being that way.
