I don't think it is a large date as it doesn't have the diagnostic raised spike on the number three.
Let me know what you think...................

The blunt 1 indicates Small Date

Good to know. Thanks

It would be interesting to see what the reverse looks like...
Not really important, is it?
No large date, no big value.

No serif at top of 1 nor top left of 3 confirms this is not the Large Date variety.
Sorry I asked; was just curious what reverse was mated to the coin for sale. Have a nice night...
The S-248 is a small date and an R.4+ coin that sells for big money in decent condition.
Smitten with DBLCs.
My WAG based on the crummy image shot through plastic and looked at on a cell phone is that this coin has Obverse 4; if so there are three reverse pairings, one of which is an NC.
"Not really important" to the OP, but maybe to large cent collectors...
That picture in no way should encourage anyone to buy the coin it is representing. I recently purchased a large date / large fraction specimen of the 1803 and these are the sellers pics:
I think it's obvious now to see why a person should never depend on lousy pics when there are sellers who can AND do accurately show a coins characteristics and condition.
Edited to add: Thanks go out to Shawn Yancey
