Buffaloes on the Move

JBNJBN Posts: 1,851 ✭✭✭✭✭

I prefer Capital holders for the main portion of my collection. The LOC album is nice and there is nothing wrong with it per se, though I think the presentation is better in the Capital holder. I may kill some plastic for a better 16-D (my eyes were better in the olden days). For the 18/17-D, don't know whether I am brave enough to crack an example out of plastic to fill the hole. We'll see.

Love seeing a well matched set in a display like that. Honestly if it were me, I would focus on the set and not worry about cracking anything out to get it where you want it. This is a great accomplishment and I love it so far!

That is a very nice set of Buffs! With all the coins in the series showing, it's a fine example of why a balanced set is often touted.

    Edited to add:

The 3 legger might (I said might) be better represented with the reverse showing. (Being that it is the center of attention for that coin).

Terrific coins, beautiful set and a great display no matter which you choose. Nicely done.

PS: If it were me, I would likely find a nice 1918-D and plug it into the 1918/7-D slot.

Excellent idea. Thanks for the suggestion.

Very nice presentation, very enjoyable when all of the coins are in similar condition.

    Love the display!
May i suggest showing the reverses of the 1913 Type 1 coins….
I am putting together a set as well all XF/AU or better…but i cannot justify the 1918 over date..
I wish they would leave it out of the album/set…..:(

Love the capital holder collection approach. What a nice set!

Capitol plastics set holders are great unitil you get the itch to upgrade or slab some of your coins!
    Then, the real fun begins!

Each of the two sets shown are quite nice. The presentation effect adds to their singular beauty.

If I ever decide to complete that set, your images remind me I have a long way to go. I only have six of them, all slabbed and mint state: 1935, 1936, 1937 PDS and 1938 D.

I use capital plastic three row mint set holders for my 1940 through 1955 mint state coin sets, then the two row ones for the 1956 through 1958 issues.

That's a way cool set. We're you thinking of maybe one day of getting the overdate?🙂

I had a great opportunity to acquire one. See my new thread on the collection.

I retract my comment from the other thread. Apparently, I knew over a year ago that you collected Buffalo's. Short, medium and long term memory has been affected by my attempts to stick to Keto diet (at least that is my latest excuse).

If the coin in the slab has an honest grade, what's the down side if you were not the one who paid the grading fee.
