You have a regular Kennedy half dollar. Sorry to be bad news, but is a regular UNC coin. Certainly not anything valuable beyond the market or face value of the coins. Wish I had better news…

For the life of me, I don't know why the so called 1964 sms coins attract so many treasure hunters.
I guess it's the "get rich quickly in coins" YouTube videos. But there is a near zero percent chance of finding them in the wild.
(If they are legitimate varieties at all.)

I have about a million times there is only one regular varitey for P and 2 proofs so if this is a regular coin why is the reverse different?

But the dirt, dust, lint, crumbs and hair give it character!

    More like absolute zero chance.

The regular business strike 1964 Kennedy halves were struck with both reverse designs - anyone who has done their research would know that.

You must not have looked very hard. Here is one.

There are also several others with the bar broken at the star It might be an uncommon reverse but not unheard of.

The accented hair variety is found only on Proofs. So if it were an accented hair example, which it’s clearly not, it would be a Proof. And if it were a Proof, it wouldn’t be an SMS.
If you’re at all serious about this, study some more and/or listen to what people are telling you.

You should send it in to PCGS for certification if you really believe you have SMS coins. If not, then I don't think you really believe it either.

The reverse of the half got freed the most. Regular Unc set. No full bands, no full steps and not Accented Hair or proofs. How much acetone did it take? Just curious as I've thought of freeing some, too.

The only accented hair I see in the pictures is from the dog or cat! :)

Millions and millions based on how many were struck is the answer to this question. I’m sorry again, but they are all normal coins that are the same as the millions of sets sold. Wish I had better news for you.

The OP deserves a kudo for his industry. In his two discussions he makes few posts, except where one post was repeated several times. In the second discussion he shows up with results; wrong or right, his only screwup was using the SMS and doubling down. We may see these things slabbed in his next discussion.

    It's too late - they've been discontinued... :/
