E.T. Nickel Mint Error

Called Pcsg been on phone for hrs. My 2021-D. Here the low down. Yes mint error. There are no pics info cause I payed for grading nothing else. Told me to send it back in. Not sure I'm going to to do that, at the moment pretty pissed about all this and the fact I was almost convinced it was worthless Take notes new coin collectors. Dame that is a awesome nickel. Send or just auction

Hate to say this but if the label does not state an error than it's just your word that it is.

What type of mint error did they say that it is?

Can we see the label, would like to see the grade.

I think that the O/P may be excited about this coin because of the horizontal mark on one of the columns. It may be a minor die break or a contact mark. Either way it does not evoke "awe" nor any degree of "awesomeness".

Go read the grading process. If the grader thinks that's the error is Not past some grade didn't quit get all that Yes it does. This is from the phone call and believe I read it myself.> @lcutler said:

I agree with the other posters here. This is a regular nickel with some marks and scratches. I do not see a mint error here. It is not a doubled die and the mint did not make any “ufo” coins (or add spaceships to any federal coin. This is clearly the case as that would have to be on ALL the nickels struck from those dies, not just one!)). Remember if you talked to someone in customer service, and they told you if they missed something to send it back in, that seems to be normal advice.

However, there may be a miscommunication here, as they may not have confirmed this coin is a mint error, more-so that if you feel they missed an error, to send it back in for reevaluation. It’s not that often that a C/S rep on the phone will tell you that you have a mint error when the previous grading indicated none. The C/S people are not the graders. This may explain why they would “not tell you the mint error, just send it back in”.

  • Thank you, Thinking he threw me a bone, so here it is bilevel die crack. I read on it and I see the stair stepping I also noticed that you can see design behind the crack open.

I can only go by what it looks like in the picture, but in this close-up it looks like a hit. You can see what looks like displaced metal on the right where it crosses the edge of the window. Is the feature raised or indented? A die crack would be raised.

Either way, that wouldn’t be an error or of any extra value.

    Not an error!
I looked at it with a few filters and they all point to a ding.
Also look at it this way, If an error, some of the pillar should show through the strike in question.
    It does not.
But, cool looking,, with a good imagination.
