    :'(

I was so excited to get your expert opinion and then . . .

I DO wish there was a 'tell' on the obverse with these Peace dollars.

I can't tell how worn the rim is on this coin.
You know how 'P's' had that chamfer.....
    Is it too worn ?

    I think I see a "s"

No not really I think it may be to far gone for a positive answer.

The only way to be sure is to submit for grading ;) .

I'm just grateful it is real, VS this one being offered on eBay right now:

That looks too large to be an S mintmark.

Agree, and it doesn't really look like an S, that is why I said it was a guess and my eyes may be playing tricks. ;)
I would not rule out PMD or just circulation that could make it look different, it's in the right general area.
Without the coin in hand or a good close-up of the area in question the only person who may be able to say for sure with the provided photos would be David Close.
If we throw odds in we have a mintage of 1,632,000 for the S and 360,649 for the P.
Even though I am not sure it's an S I would be willing to bet it is and the odds are in my favor.
Are you willing to bet it's a P?
If it's a P I will send braddick $25 to help cover grading costs, if it's an S you send him $25 to help cover grading costs. ;)
