I recently acquired this 2153-L* at a local coin shop. I've been researching this issue and so far I have only found one other example (for sale at AMPEX):

.
Is there a census for these, and if so, is there any information on the quantity reported ?
The APMEX note is graded VF-30. I'm wondering if the one I found is the highest grade known. It has one hard fold vertically down the center. Other than that, it is pretty crisp and clean (no stains, tears, pinholes, etc). I'm not a paper money grader, but I'm inclined to call it XF-45.

Nice note.
Here’s half-a-dozen SOLD examples.

Thanks for that.
Strange, when I searched on Heritage for 2153-L* I didn't get those results.
Anyway, the APMEX note is one of those that previously sold on Heritage. And there were two repeat sales at Heritage.
So that makes 4 different notes known, plus my new one.
Of those four notes, there is one AU55 and the rest are VF30 or lower. The AU55 note looks trimmed on the left side - the left margin is unusually thin. I might be inclined to call my new one the highest grade known because it has much nicer margins.
love the grade as well
Very neat note, Dan!
