1944 wheat penny errors?

I have this 1944 wheat penny. I know the coins in 44 were made from brass from spent shell casings from the war. This seems to have pretty gnarly die error and anyone help me determine what this is and possible value?

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to say, your coin is just damaged. That is nothing that could have happened during the minting process.

Just well scratched, and other contact marks.
Those scratches and impact marks are not from the dies.

A penny often has a hard life once it leaves the mint!

Value is about 2 cents, normal for a wheat cent.

Damage is not an error. An error can only occur during the striking of the planchet in the coining press.
Anything that happens after that, such as your coin, is considered damamge

Obvious damage. Value is one cent.

    All glory is fleeting.
