Is Jim Thorpe the greatest athlete of all-time?

I was poking around ebay and happened across the Jim Thorpe cards, and was shocked by how expensive some of his cards are, so I decided to look into him, he was one bad dude. For instance, did you know that Jim Thorpe won gold medals in the pentathlon and decathlon at the 1912 Olympics wearing mismatched shoes of different sizes that he fished out of a trash can after his shoes got stolen. That, my friends, is some legendary old school American bada..ery.

Of course he was a football star as well, here he is pictured destroying a tackling dummy with Glenn "Pop" Warner looking on.

There is the Topps All American set that is from 1955- the Thorpe card is tough in a reasonable grade from what I am told.

Thorpe was a trailblazer... great athlete but in my view... GOAT is mythical so I would consider him among the greatest- not the greatest because there simply is no greatest.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

Well said, and yes, the 1955 Topps All American is a very hot card, very expensive in high grade!
