The Gettysburg show was Friday, Sept 1 and Saturday, Sept 2 with Dealer setup and early bird badges on Thursday. We had one dealer "no-show" after calling, asking for a table and confirming he would be there. One of the other dealers called, put him on the speaker and asked if he was coming. He said that he did not understand the contract, it was too complicated, gave several excuses and hung up. He did not know I was there. So he will be put on the list of those dealers we do not sell tables to.

There were zero problems with security. Keith, our normal daytime guard had knee surgery so he only did half the day on Thursday. Randy was there during the days and was very professional and pleasant. Nights were handled by "Big" Steve and Dirk.

Attendance was down 9% over our other shows. I attribute that to the holiday weekend and our postcards not reaching the collectors until this Friday and Saturday. I received roughly 50 phone calls over the 3 days about the late postcards or not receiving a postcard. We contracted the postcards and mailings out to a large corporation and they failed this time.

It seemed like everything was selling. Many collectors asked for wheat cents and they were selling. Several dealers were hunting bags of wheat cents, so I'm speculating there will be a promotion on them around Christmas from one of the telemarketers. Proof and mint sets were soft, but gold and silver were selling well. Type coins were in demand. One of the ancient dealers sold out on Friday and did not return on Saturday. ANACS was accepting submissions and had many more submissions than usual. I walked the floor and talked to dealers and the public since I no longer sell at the show. Dealers were overjoyed with their sales and the biggest complaint from dealers was they wanted to rent another table. Unfortunately, with the number of dealers and limited floor space, we cannot rent any additional tables since we do not have any.

Standard food, for the Eisenhower hotel show was being sold; cheeseburgers, nachos with cheese, chicken parmesan sandwiches, salads, subs and ham and cheese sandwiches. We ate at Blessing Mexican restaurant in town and it was fantastic and also at the local Ruby Tuesday, which was good. I'm not a big eater during the shows, so I don't go many places.

I know! I know! This is useless without pictures. Somebody, PLEASE post the picture with that on it. I bought an 1834 bust half AU55 nice even grey (Raw), 1857 Large cent, AU50 nice even chocolate brown, 21 G-VG standing liberty quarters, 1881 S Morgan MS65 raw and some foreign silver coins. Oh, I bought a set of Historical Civil War .999 silver one ounce rounds in the original book they came in. All 40 are toned a beautiful blue. (I bought a nice Ruger P89 9mm prior to the show last week.)

The next show is the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. If you want a table, give me a call, text or message me. We currently have tables available.

You allow guns to be sold at a coin show?

Most gun shows have a few dealers that also sell coins.

No, I bought it prior to the show.
