Just don't look right

before it goes to the melt pot. damaged or ? just looks like something there I missing.

    Yes, badly damaged. If you look at enough coins, you’ll continue to find a lot more examples with many different types of damage. It might help to look at a lot of pictures of graded error coins, so you can learn how they differ from post-production damage.

    Unless you can explain how that would happen during the striking of the coin, the only
    alternative is that is is badly damaged, much like your dime.

    Yes damaged looking past that and to me don't set right missing something. LOL or my imagination.
