Aggravating when someone posts a coin asking for opinions, doesn't like the responses that they are getting, so they delete everything and we're left with a clickbait title to nothing.

Don't blame the OP. The question was asked and answered and there is no way for the OP to close a thread.

But they could leave everything there for other people to see and learn. He wasn't exactly getting bashed by anyone.

We don't really know if they didn't like the answer. Possibly in this case they did get their answer and attempted to close out the thread in the best possible manner allowed. Better title would be helpful with a possible with coin description and edit with something like "Answer accepted - Thanks"

They didn't like the answer. They thought it was a mysterious die error on a Columbian expo medal like the one below. When in reality, someone beat it up with a hammer, which was obvious to everyone.
Here's the "countermark" in question... obviously the hammered equivalent of a vise job. Everything is in reverse. Not sure what was hammered into the medal though. Any thoughts?

It just looks damaged to me.
Agree. Heavily damaged.
Looks like a couple of blows with a hammer.
Badly damaged.
Very educational thread.
As Ricko would have said, "missed it again"

I think someone was hoping for a valuable "error".

Best to quote the OP so history is preserved I guess. Just liked the dealer poster here from Houston who constantly edits his threads.

Sigh...I miss RickO
It looks like the OP decided that he was right and everyone here was wrong.
The medal is now on ebay, listed as a "countermark cud error rare".
