OT, just had an earthquake in NEOhio.

Not common here and usually only 2.0 or so, this one was 4.0 reported at 10:43 eastern, about two miles from my house. It actually shook the house pretty good and moved me on the couch.

There was a smaller after-shock around 11:10, both falling on the heels of a small quake in the same location last Thursday. I can't tell you how rare these are, they just don't happen very often so even though small it's a bit nerve-wracking. I figure it felt so strong where I am because it was only about two miles away and reported as 4.5 miles deep.

Glad you're ok. Lovely Cleveland there, especially the reverse color.

Actuall reading was confirmed at 3.6, small aftershock at 2.3 - no damage reported. Must be the lake shore shivering from the cool temperatures for the end of August :D

I grew up in NE Ohio and I recall getting earthquakes from time-to-time. There were always very minor.

I went to college in Fairbanks, Alaska and coming from the northeast where I never felt an earthquake before I thought it was “fun” tbh when we had them. There was a 7.9 that made my feet feel like someone grabbed them and swirled them around being drunk on rollerskates for a bit as I walked on a flat surface with no snow or ice on the ground

    Chance favors the prepared mind.

I was talking with a friend last night and he informed me that there were "three more aftershocks" on September 1st. Of course they were small, each around 2.0-2.5, but they have been closer to me. Two of the three were only about two miles deep and all three were within half-a-mile from being directly under my home's location!! :#
