Las Vegas Show Report

Over all the Show had a great turn out! Friday morning when the doors opened there were over a hundred people ready to enter. Floor traffic was active all day long, they were looking and spending. My question to all is where have all the PCGS coins gone? NGC were all over with very few PCGS let alone a PCGS coin with a CAC. Silver was all over, bigger bars were selling at $1.50 to $2.00 over spot. I saw 90% from 19 times face to 23 times face. The lowest buy on 90% was at 16 times face. I don’t sell gold so can’t say mush about that. A great show overall!

Thanks for the great report! I almost went to this show, but had a conflict. Maybe next time. Very interesting about the lack of PCGS plastic. Odd.

    Thanks for the report.
I also find it odd that there were “very few” PCGS coins on the bourse. But I don’t know the dealer demographic that attended. Our monthly show of mostly mom&pop dealers is primarily raw coins, a fair number of ICG holders, and some PCGS and NGC coins, but not many.
There were plenty of PCGS coins at Summer FUN last month. If I had to guess, there were probably more PCGS holdered coins than others.

16 to 19 seems fair, 16 to 23 not so much.
At a different show I was recently offered 19 for Barber halves ($8.50 each) and passed on that deal.

    oops, I mean $9.50 each

A few dealers only had NGC coins in their cases.

I am only guessing but perhaps this is a result of the long grading times at PCGS.

I agree that I was seeing more NGC and ANACs holders in dealer cases. The cost and wait times for PCGS grading seem to be driving more local (regional) dealers I know to go that route.
But I saw several dealers with lots of PCGS coins. Saw a dealer who had a whole case of green holders. One dealer I talked to had 5 cases mostly PCGS with tons of rattlers, some rattler saints with green and gold CAC. But he was definitely in love with or deep like with the coins based on his pricing.

Maybe dealers withheld PCGS slabs in expectation of higher prices at the upcoming Long Beach Show (Sep 7-9).

The higher prices at Long Beach is a idea.

I am afraid that at a LV show, the only table I would sit at would be covered with green felt and the dealer would try to bust me.

I stumbled upon that show two years ago when I happened to be in Vegas for the week. I had a good time then and like hearing that it's still a good time to be had now.

    where?

Easy, they are sitting at PCGS waiting for someone to finalize them.

When they are finally done, I figure 32,000,000 more PCGS slabs will suddenly appear.
