Like, for free? Or do I have to pay to submit it?

If it's free, 1984 Donruss is 658 cards. That may be better than 132 cards in 1984 Fleer Update.

It would cost almost 12.5 grand to sub 658 1984 Donruss cards at 19 dollars each. That's a lotta sub fees.

It would only cost 2.5 grand to sub 132 cards at 19 dollars each for 1984 Fleer Update.

    That's without upcharges.

But, If you hit all 10s you would totally get upcharged on a few cards out of each of those sets!

Are the commons actually sellable? Or should I really just sub like 3 cards out of each set?

    1984 Donruss

Like the 84 Donruss design a who lot more than the 84 Fleer. I'd take the Donruss as well, at least at this point in time. 30 year ago when I was child woudl have been a different story.

How much am I paying? Someone had to make it though. You're saying the guy that paid all those sub fees doesn't want it? Those numbers are if they hit all 10s. Very low odds. Crazy expensive to make 1984 Donruss. Does it even exist? Like, as a registry set?

I'd rather have the Fleer Clemens, Puckett and Gooden in PSA 10 than the entire 84 Donruss set in PSA 10. Always get the best player/card in any trade you're making. I'd rather have a dollar bill than ten dimes.

definitely FU for me. 2 big cards compared to 1. plus, it takes MUCH more space to store 660 cards compared to just 132. I just have zero desire to have so many psa 10 commons hanging around.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

  • CardGeekCardGeek Posts: 486 ✭✭✭

If a PSA 10 common is 30 bucks, that's like $18,000 in commons! There have got to be 56 cards in that set that are better than a common. Guys get all geeked on this site about 8th year Ryan in high grade. Lotsa stars in 1984 Donruss. There's even a Ryan.

Clemens gets slammed in every thread on this site for roids, even though greatest pitcher of the modern era. Puckett, bad rep after baseball. Gooden cooled off pretty fast.

    Puckett rookie.

Edited to add; his case where he was accused of assaulting/molesting a woman in a rest room was almost immediately resolved in his favor. The consensus was because of his size, what the prosecutor was claiming happened was physically impossible.
Not many remember this, just that he was accused.
His wife also had some accusations that only came out when they were divorcing.

    Clemens rookie.

He's also not well thought of even though he never tested positive and was not found guilty when investigated.

Yeah the gooden, clemens and puckett 10's are big time cards. Clemens certainly off the charts over mattingly. Gooden way better card than the strawberry. And you still puckett and saberhagen.

Work hard and you will succeed!!

Puckett was just "accused"? LOL You're right. Nobody remembers it that way.
You mean accused, charged, indicted for false imprisonment and criminal sexual assault, and eventually tried.
If only you'd present this kind of downplaying regarding Rose and his dismissal of charges.
Hmm...maybe if Rose had put on a Twins uniform?

Sad that you would go there, although not unexpected.

Puckett was not found "innocent" as you claim.
Rose was not "actually guilty" as you claim.
Rose was not "dismissed on a technicality" as you claim.
Bro, take some pride in being factual.
The sad part is, you "went there" long before I have. LOL

    1984 Fleer Update

"A jury has found baseball Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett not guilty on all charges. It took the jury a little more than eight hours of deliberation to clear Puckett on three charges related to an alleged assault of a woman in a restaurant bathroom last September."

    Puckett......not guilty.

"Pete Rose and John Dowd have agreed, based on mutual consideration, to the dismissal with prejudice of Mr. Rose's lawsuit against Mr. Dowd. I am not permitted to comment further regarding the resolution of the matter," attorneys for both Rose and Dowd said in a statement, per ESPN.com's William Weinbaum.

Rose's initial complaint stemmed from comments Dowd made in 2015 on Pennsylvania radio station WCHE-AM. According to Weinbaum, Dowd alleged an old associate of Rose's, Michael Bertolini, disclosed Rose "ran young girls for him down in spring training, ages 12 to 14."

Rose........child molester. No reason to drop the defamation suit except that continuing with it will prove you guilty.

This is a pattern of Rose's behavior; deny that he bet on baseball, lie about his income (resulting in jail time) and finally denying he had sex with underage girls.

Age of consent in Florida is 18.

Go ahead and keep defending the guy, one of the sickest people who ever played in the MLB.

    "Ages 12 to 14"

Puckett being found 'not guilty' by a jury is not the same as Puckett being innocent. I take it you have no issue with those who don't like Puckett, to keep calling him a kidnapper, woman abuser, and "one of the sickest people who ever played in the MLB."

And I know you still haven't figured it out yet, but I'm not defending Rose specifically, since I, just like you, don't know what actually happened beyond speculation and hearsay. That doesn't matter to you. Just like all the dismissals.

That's because you and Dowd are the same. Targeting with a personal vendetta against Rose, saying anything to disparage him. Clearly you've embraced the fake news world we live in now where you can call anybody a 'child molester' with no proof, admission, or guilty verdict. It's sad and irresponsible. That's the problem.

Oh, and 1 more thing......84 Donruss.

    1984 Donruss

I'd go with1984 Donruss. Have to wonder what a 1984 Donruss complete PSA 10 set would sell for at auction. I bet someone would pay $80-100K for it. Anyone have any other guesses at what it would sell for?
