Bought at a show while in vacation

My wife and I went to Dearborn Michigan to see the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. The show was 20 minutes away in Livonia.

If you don't mind saying, how much did it cost?

$200, it's for my slabbed type set

Nice pick up. Livonia show is a once a month show. I usually try and check it out most of the time. Too bad you didn't line it up with the Warren show this coming weekend - much larger!

Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village are both great things to check out while in the area.

Nice pickup. Definitely a bonus when you can pick something up while on vacation. Not often, but when I can I try and see if any shows or shops are local to where we may be when on vacation. With the wife's approval, of course. She is great and usually indulges me.

Again, nice score on a type piece.

My old stomping grounds. Used to go to the monthly shows all the time but some dealers inventory got a little stale. Loved the Polish show in Troy as well (especially the food).

Haven't been to HFM or Greenfield Village in years - always a treat to revisit history for any visitor. HFM is on my list for my next winter visit.

Didn't realize how many members have roots in the SE Michigan area. Tomorrow's show I mentioned above is the Polish American Numismatic Society show in Warren. I believe this is the same show that used to be in Troy. Lately coin show venues have been changed like underwear. I plan on firing up the Vette and taking a run out there in the morning.

Back in the late 60’s I used to go to the small show in the mall at Seven Mile and Middlebelt in Livonia. Where is the show held now?

Livonia Mall show(My collecting time started in mid '70s)... Think it kind of got dissolved over the years. The oldest coins that I believe remain in my collection came from there. Bought as a 16 year old from that show/auction. Used to have a Saturday auction. They'd throw out some coins on an 8' table in a small back room. Purchased some BU Mercs(1974?) from one of those auctions and here they sit some 50 years later:

    Nice half!

Haven't been through Dearborn in decades. Lived all over that state, thumb to UP.

I picked up an 8R and a Spanish 5 pesata in Barcelona a few years ago while on vaction and a Peace $ in Seattle as well. Only vacation pickups I can recall.
