Behold! The 1936 three legged headless buffalo nickel!!, in good condition.
I wonder just how this coin was made. Looks to me like it came from the mint like this,

That might be a cud but it is most likely PMD and thus any (missing) details and wear patterns can not be trusted

We need a dozen pictures through a microscope to be sure.
I might be wrong but I don't think variety is even on the table. It's either a PMD or a mint error. Is a cud a variety? Is struck thru a variety? A cud or struck thru happens during the minting process. Could it be struck thru something or a hit? I don't see corresponding damage on the obv.
