Philly Coin Expo

Anyone going to this show? I originally was not because I thought it was at the Phila Convention center, and I don't like center city Phila for many reasons. This is located at the Greater Phila Expo Center in Oaks, PA (near King of Prussia) away from the city. It is a big convention center with multiple conventions taking place (240,000 sq ft of convention space) and 5,000 FREE parking spots! Google "Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks" to see the facility. Also "Phila Coin Expo" for show details. I am definitely going.

I will be there.
I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
Too far for me.
Also plan on attending not too far away from me
Found another monthly show called Montgomery County(PA) coin show anyone ever been to it?
Is that the one in Telford?![](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/editor/x9/xid6tev4gmga.jpg)
If so it's a small one, if your close enough it may be worth the trip.
I went to the one in Langhorne, PA last Sunday at the Sheraton, that was a waste of time for me.
About 10 or 12 dealers
I may go to the one in Oaks, if there aren't any trains running that I I like.

I'm gonna go. Right off the turnpike, much better locale than downtown Philly. Hope to meet others from CU. Peace Roy

I'll be there. Should be a pretty big show from what I am hearing on the streets.
I knew nothing about it, but thanks for posting here. Not too far from my backyard so I will probably check it out.
I wish I could go, but that conflicts with the White Out in State College.
Yes it is the one in Telford thanks for the heads up
I just found out I won't be going.
I have tickets already for the Pork Roll eating contest on that date.

I love Taylor Pork Roll!!![:p :p](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
The breakfast of champions is pork roll, egg and cheese on a hard roll and a good cup of coffee. Peace Roy

It’s called Taylor ham if you’re from Jersey.
Not too far for me, I am going. The Telford show is about 30 dea;ers and it'usually a good one. Another local show I regularly go to is the one in Trevose. also, I'm from north Jersey, it's Taylor Ham.
I would love to get a list of dealers setting up at the expo.
Thirty years ago, there was a Taylor Pork Roll store on the Wildwood NJ boardwalk.
We get the 4 slice pack, New Yorker American slices, toasted hamburger rolls.
Does anybody know what exit off I-76 this is, or is this clearly marked (Rt 202). Thanks.
I take 76 to 422 to 363 Audubon exit (from Philly) there are directions on the website

I’m the guy putting on the show btw 👋 looking forward to meeting you all there 👍
Littlebear
I will be taking 422 west to the Oaks exit then left at bottom of ramp onto Egypt Rd then follow to station ave. And turn left 100 station ave is the address
Will you have some kind of table set up to identify you?
The trevose monthly show is good 30+ dealers every month 👍
I do the langhorn show at the Sheraton hotel across from sesame place it’s small 10-12 dealers but still a good one for me
Anyone know of a dealer who will be there that might buy bulk wheat cents? Like $0.03 each or so?
I'll be there. I've been asked about it by quite a few dealers doing my rounds, so I'm fairly sure it's gonna be a decent show, especially given how decent a lot of the other local shows in the Philly area tend to be. Hopefully this gets traction and takes off, filling a void between Baltimore shows. Philly could use a good, local show in the late summer/early fall that isn't Trevose, as nice as Trevose is.
It's definitely well-promoted if nothing else. Looking forward to it.
Will it be obvious which table is yours?
"It's like God, Family, Country, except Sticker, Plastic, Coin."
Would love to go but just a bit to far unless I’m in the area. My first coin show was in 2012 in Hutchison Kansas. What a great experience that was to finally be in a place with fellow collectors. I’m sure it will be a terrific time for all who attend.
I'm going to the Oaks show. Please post your table # so I can meet you. Peace Roy

Not far from where I used to live. Too late to plan for this one unfortunately, Would have been a good opportunity to mix business with reuniting with a lot of old friends.

"It's like God, Family, Country, except Sticker, Plastic, Coin."
Set up at the show. It was well-attended (in spite of the foul weather). An extremely well-run show!
Show was rockin….. for a fist show there was a great turnout. Lot of new folks who found it because of a sports card show at the other hall…. We were busy the whole day. Wonderful items cam in including a putway roll of half dimes. Never saw that before… met lots of new faces and enjoyed lots of YN’s and other people who said this was their very first coin show. If you missed it you missed something good
Although I wasn't planning to, due to prep for some major travel on Sunday, I made it out to the Expo.
I did, however, enter first at the hall for the Sports Memorabilia show, thinking this was a huge start for a first-year coin show. I stopped at the Heritage Auctions table to inquire where the coins were. They sent me in a direction. Not necessarily the right direction, but at least I got my steps in.
When I found my way to the correct entrance, which was a lot closer to where I parked (now THAT was a mess) -- across the street at BJ's -- I appreciated that this hall was much smaller and friendlier and less crowded than the other hall.
The dealers I spoke with were all helpful. Found a few harder-to-find items for my 7070 in conditions that mostly fit in with the set... Only purchased ungraded today and stuck to a budget. Will probably visit a few of the new-to-me dealers in the area when I return from travel.
A good first show experience.
Collecting: Cents, Dansco 7070, Half Dollars, 1947, 1976, random pieces I like
My PCGS Registry
I don't know how I forgot about this, even after posting on this thread a couple of times. Ugh
I couldn’t make it yesterday but would be interested in the future. The location is 20 minutes outside the city and easy to get to. With Philadelphia being blackballed by the ANA, this could turn into a really nice annual coin show for us.
This show is not worth going to for coins. Only a few coin dealers, the rest are stamps.
TAYLOR HAM!
This was a nice show, has lotta potential given this was the first one and the weather was hot garbage. You could put twice the number of dealers in the area they used, and I'm sure they'll get more next time. I stayed about 3 hours or so before heading out.
"It's like God, Family, Country, except Sticker, Plastic, Coin."
I found two coins for my PCGS slabbed type set, here is one of them. This was a good show, I thought the turnout was smaller because of the rain.

Just a fun story from the show
Tom stopped by before our doors were open to peek in. He is 96, was at the expo center for a baseball card show & veterans event. I gave Tom tickets 001&002 and told him we’d love to have him back when we opened. Not only did he come back, he stayed all day . He won the LAST door prize of the day! His son in law told me we made his weekend. 😁
Think there will be one next year? Or possibly twice a year?
I love the open spaces between the dealers, I hate when you are being bumped by people when you sit down to look at dealer stock in the back, or people are wheeling their little carts around and almost running over your toes. will have to put this show on my agenda for next year. I love the door prize too.
I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
100% once a year
60% twice a year
I’m still working out the particulars
I ultimately want this to be a national show 👍
Looks like you had a good start to a new show. Good luck with it in the future.
