I have two submissions in house, hope they have a good roof.

Hope everyone stays safe.

edited to add: Last time a hurricane hit California was September 25, 1939.

Latest tracking info on TS Hilary from NOAA.

Right in the line of fire! They have earthquake building codes, lets hope that is enough.

PCGS will be just fine and but storm has to go over my house first in East San Diego County :o:o:o

Last night, my daughter zoomed in on the center tracking line and it was 4 houses away :o:o:o

Better dust off your metal detector. The hurricane is sure to dredge up some old gold.

A tropical system has not reached California since September 28, 1939, so any guess is just that, a guess. A great more real estate and people could be impacted than just one place.

There are a lot of coin folks "in the line of fire" here in SoCal, and me being only 5 miles from PCGS, am very hopeful our flood infrastructure will be able to handle whatever Hilary throws our way. The ones who will have the hardest time are the canyons and hillsides up and down the coast where there were a lot of wild fires earlier in the year as they most likely will have severe mudslides and flooding. So far at this time, there is not a drop of rain (6:30pm), but I hear it's coming later tonight.....

Stay safe all of you on the left coast. Charmy, protect those Lincolns, I'm gonna need some more of them.

At the coast in San Diego here. Main concern is over falling trees. They [stupidly] planted a lot of eucalyptus. Shallow roots and a heavy crown that operates like a sail in even moderate winds. I suspect they are going to come down all over roadways in SoCal and probably take out an occasional transformer on the way down. Otherwise, storm surge and flooding will be in the usual locations. The problem is getting intransigent homeless encampments in the canyons to take it seriously.

Heavy rain and wind gusts up to 60 mph are predicted beginning tomorrow morning. PCGS should be fine. They’re in Newport Beach but they are not very close to the ocean. Flooding a possibility in the foothills and ocean/bay front properties. The storm is projected to hit land in southeast San Diego County and head slightly northeast.

Here in Florida, I just drive away (evacuate) from hurricanes because there is sooooo much time. There are days to plan and evacuate. Toss the valuables, family and important documents etc into the vehicle and drive away. I have done it many times. I just turn it into a short term unplanned vacation. I have never understood why people stay in the path of hurricanes (besides those financially unable to evacuate).

That region does not get much rain and there could be massive flooding and untold problems from staying. Drive away from the danger zone if you can!

I currently have two submissions in at PCGS but I am not worried.

Last year people were worried about the hurricane that threatened NGC. This year is quite unusual to have one threatening the greater SoCal area. Granted, the biggest risk from this will be the water related problems, not the wind. I hope everyone stays safe and takes necessary precautions.

If you’re gonna leave you have to do it before the rush otherwise you could end up in a situation like Rita. I’m 80 miles inland and high up enough that we just ride them out.

Of course. I have always left within 24 hours of projected landfall and been fine. Others that try leaving a few hours from landfall end up in a parking lot of an interstate system. That's not good.

Steady rain in Vegas since 7:30, 1/4 inch already. Coins are safe for now. I'm at the bottom of a large hill and often get a flooded yard so am keeping my fingers crossed not tomorrow. House is only 3" higher than the yard.

NGC is built like a fortress and easily took 120+mph wind gusts in the last hurricane. I’ve never been to pcgs’ building so I don’t know their setup. Worst part of the hurricanes are the looters afterwards. Good thing California has very little crime, strong police force, and a tiny homeless population…oh wait a second…

The rain is supposed to get very heavy and could be excessive with wind gusts later today. If you live in Southern California please stay home today.

Not raining right now, no wind. Still in jammies, working on coins, not going anywhere!

I've witnessed some large hurricanes that would pass through almost in silence. Very weird presence.

Stay safe and alert out there.

1 inch overnight, no damage here. Sure don't need my A/C today! Been spotty showers all day. Next wave coming this evening/night. Perhaps another inch they say. Sky look iffy as to whether we get rain or not:

All that beautiful valuable precious water running back into the Pacific. Give it a couple of weeks, you'll be in a drought!.....again.
