What in the world is this? A planchet error?

Saw this one online. Is it one of those coins I’ve seen hobbyists or swindlers make? They are calling it a planchet error. Wouldn’t this scenario be impossible?

Impossible to be an error.
Magicians coin. The reverse has been hollowed and the cent has been filed down so it would fit in the back of the dime. Only value is as a novelty coin.
Yep, a magician's coin.
Watch this trick! I have in my hand an ordinary penny. Yep, look closely, ladies and gentlemen, nothing to see here, perfectly normal. Now, hocus pocus, slightus handicus, poof! It's not a penny anymore, it's a dime! Wow! Be amazed!
Of course, this "magic" would have only worked way back when wheat pennies and mercury dimes were commonplace; anyone trying this trick today on Joe Public with this coin, and Joe Public would wonder why the penny and dime both looked funny. So it almost certainly would have been made not long after that 1936 date.

Apparently I have been awarded one DPOTD.
If you zoom in close on top of the E and R of liberty, you can see the seam.

Years ago, when I used to search Kennedy halves for silver I found a few. You could hear the dull thud and knew that they were hollow. That, and orientation of obverse and reverse were usually rotated.
