Found a proof, in my pocket change tonight. SanFrancisco mint mark.

found this North Carolina proof, in my pocket change tonight, and 2 awhile back, i think during the lockdown, i was helping keep my local area stores ability to make change, and i found a platinum plated virgin islands, and a gold plated mississippi quarter, that mustve came from one of the clearing houses that promoted coins like that, special edition sales ploy.. Do you guys run into many coins like this in your area? i live in the balmy sw state of AZ. 10 YEARS AGO, my wife pulled a couple NIFC and proof Kennedy half dollars, and managed to get ALL the silver war nickels, AU-BU coins, EVERY ONE of them better than the ones i culled out through change and slot machines over the years, she bought them and 2 peace dollars for FACE,,$2. 60 cents for ALL.. i think someone was hard up for cigarettes, And thats when silver was HIGH, , we flipped the big coins, and did a swap out with my collection on the war nickels so now i have a real nice set and a nice set of short run silver nickels , gathered at face. Happy Hunting!

I often dump impaired proofs and gold/platinum plated coins into the Coin Star or rolls. [The gold-plated coins usually are rejected by the coin star.] You simply can't sell them form much more than face and they clog up the house. I actually have a complete set of gold states and an enameled set of gold states that I'm going to take to the bank as soon as I get around to rolling them. It'll be a pleasure to throw out the "cherry" boxes and free up some space.

When I was CRH for W quarters I found over a hundred S quarters.

Got to the point I stopped keeping them and "threw them back!"😂🤣

Yeah, now that you mention it, i have 2 or 3 enameled state quarters as well, also.i LIKE finding coins like that, in the wild, and i KNOW they dont carry much, if any premium, but its still kinda neat at the end of the day, to find one in your pocket, THANKS for putting them out there , i appreciate finding the oddball item, and the random proof gifts people, accidentally, or by design, put outinto the wild. Got a couple memorial Lincoln proofs i forgot about as well.

I also regularly dump proof into circulation, especially quarters
