Has Numismedia got any better than a few years ago?

lsicalsica Posts: 1,589 ✭✭✭✭

I subscribed to Numismedia a few years ago but stopped when I saw they were sort of asleep at the wheel as far as pricing updates (ex - common date Franklin Halfs were the same price there for several weeks despite the price of silver rising to make their actual value significantly more). Are they any better now? Curious since I just got an email from them about reinstating my subscription

I do not have a subscription to Numismedia. I just use their free web site prices. As far as they are concerned, (I only look at Seated Coin prices), they give what I consider to be a fair estimate for what a raw, average for the grade piece may go for. They do not do split grade pricing, ie 25, 35 etc. , but find that when I do the math their price is often the same as low bid CDN.

Yeah but seated coin prices tend not to be very volatile. I mean get them accurate in May you'll probably still be fine in August 😉 My issue was that they didn't seem to keep up with the stuff that moves around like common date silver pieces (ex F-XF Frankies)
