The search function is your friend. Well, maybe not on this forum, so scratch that.

It is classed as a variety as it is on the working die. I know of at least 4 that have been certified,
probably more by know as they are discovered. Here is an article on this coin.
I wonder how many people will try scratching a V in their cents ?

Just emptied my wifes spare change jar. I think I found one. The left side of this errant V is strong. The right side is shallow and weak. Gonna set it aside as more study develops. Has Mike Diamond posted additional info? And the hunt continues. Peace Roy

Isn't that just a scratch on the die not a V

    Could be but it's suspect.

I've found two in my change so far, it seems like my area might be a hotspot. Good job though @nooraden1 , you're getting better at this. :)

  • If you found a 2023 with an extra v , first it should be included , second send to a grading company to be graded . I have 3. All graded MS64 , MS65 , MS66 all graded

I searched through about a roll of P&Ds but I didn’t find any with the “V”.

    Hello everyone.
I hope everyone is in the best condition. I thank you all for your good treatment and with all your kindness and appreciation.
A while ago, I sent a picture to your site, a picture of a 2023 Linklin cent. You showed it to the PCGS website for evaluation, and of course, with all appreciation, they did everything they had to do, and I thank them very much for their good treatment.
But they did not mention the full details. I checked it and found that they did not mention in detail the graded, and there is extra letter V in it in addition to the cent, and they say that it is damaged, and there is a picture to confirm it. I ask you to help, and a thousand thanks and appreciation to all of you.

You're paying a lot in tuition to learn the same thing you got here for free.

    1) You would need to pay extra for them to mention it on the slab.

    2) It would need to be a variety that PCGS recognizes. (They don't do all varieties)

    3) A coin with environmental damage should not have been sent in the first place.

Sorry you paid a bit of tuition on this one. :/

None of use here seem to have any "pull" with customer service. You should contact them directly.

Thank you very much in advance.
I actually contacted the administration and their response was to send them a message and pay them $25 for the change.
I wanted to tell you because of the cents I sent. After I presented it to you, thank you very much for your help. May God protect you

No need to throw away another $25 on top of what you have already lost. ;)

    What "rating"?

Those cents aren't worth the price of submission.

Are you talking about "Large Date" vs "Small Date"?

I think you have to pay extra for variety attribution in most cases. Ard you saying you did that?

In any case, those coins were not worth sending in to begin with. :/
