Any Fractional buffs out there with an opinion on this note?

Im not well versed whatsoever on Fractionals, my best guess is fractional specimens lacked? signatures.

I cannot find another example (searching all the major auction houses) of a piece missing signatures. The grade is low, but it is definitely a curiosity at best.

Any idea of value?
Rarity?

I thank you all in advance.

Something about yours looks off. I honestly think its a counterfeit. Also the signatures are with ink and if the note was washed they could have come off. Considering the condition, chances are if signatures were their they washed off or its a counterfeit. No way to know if the signatures weren't there before.

That's what I figured, thank you. With the grade, it's really difficult to execute if they have worn off or been erased. If we were dealing with a high grade note, it would be more concrete

Why they graded it as a 1253 is anyone bet....Does it have a reverse? (pic please)...if not, it's a proof that circulated.

    It's a red back. I'll find a photo.

Maybe it is a genuine, issued note without the signatures and an error, as described.

Mailed off to PMG with a couple nationals, interesting to see what they say. Wonder if they will attribute..

Despite the grade, I could find no other examples, at any grade, missing both signatures.. this is odd.
