1925 Lincoln Cent error?

I am aware that this coin has little value, i would like to hear the forums opinions on what this is and how it could happen. It is important to note that the “Blob” is well attached as it clearly has been worn in circulation for many years…

Yes, it's a planchet error and called a lamination. Pretty common on early date wheaties. Fun to have and view but not a real premium for them unless they are a lot worse than yours.
Probably worth $5 to $7 dollars or so would be my wild guess.

The blob looks like the bottom of a shoe.
