What would you estimate the grade of this coin as? And how could someone know if their offer is a "low ball" if you don't have an ask price?

I would say about 35 would be a fair price
That’s $1 more than than the PCGS price guide price for an (already graded) MS66 example.

Seller didn't specify units. 35 could be cents. Or maybe Zimbabwean dollars.
I'm not trying to be mean @simpsondanny46 but you are giving yourself a bad reputation with your gross overpricing of what are very low value items. Full retail for this coin is far less than your estimate of 35 dollars (I assume dollars as you didn't clarify) This is not etsy or FB, most of the members here are well versed in numismatics, people are going to ignore your posts unless you learn what you have and price it accordingly before you attempt to sell it.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
A circulated 1940-S nickel would cost you less than 25 cents in any coin store that even bothered to carry them. The UNCs are so common that 99% of coin stores wouldn't waste a 2x2 on an XF coin.
Honestly, I'm not sure you're ready to buy coins much less sell them. You can learn a lot here if you are open to learning.
