We need cropped, focused photos of the entire obverse and reverse.

The markers are on the reverse. Always supply a complete photo of both sides along with the closeup when making inquires about coins.

Do you have access to a cell phone?
Even a cell phone camera photo is better than nothing.
My first inkling is it is a possible counterfeit.

There's a D mintmark on it. No need to examine it any further.

no, sorry ,i dont use cellular devices, i installed the cell tower antennas and i know what microwaves can do, they use the 5g signals as perimeter deterrent that works so well, buildings that utilize it sit unlocked with NO WORRIES about loss, because NOBOODY can even get within 50 ft of the building, without feeling/getting sick, and it doesnt go away, till you move away, and it can be quite painful, it gets more intense the closer you get

Really? You can buy a cell phone with a camera and internet access for $40 (https://www.amazon.com/cheap-phones/s?k=cheap+phones) or a cheap digitial camera for $25 (https://www.amazon.com/s?k=cheap+digital+camera&sprefix=cheap+digital+,aps,167&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_2_14). How much is the gas in your car with A/C blasting in the hot Arizona sun to drive to the auto parts store to buy anything for your Camaro?

So you want experts here (not me, not an expert) to give you free advice on a daily basis so that you can pass on "valuable" coins to your children and you can't invest $25 in a camera? I understand that you have been on disability, had cancer, have children, have 700 graded coins, and live on a fixed income but to me that is absurd.

I have a bit of a soft spot for the OP as years ago I purchased a full set of Lincoln cents from a collector. I was sad to report the 22 was a counterfeit. I still purchased the set (discounted for this revelation, of course) and have kept the set intact so as to remind me of the pitfalls of collecting.

wow, i like the green paper album, what was up with the backs of the ones that looked different. not the woodies, i really like those, but the ones that looked like they were made of a different material, like steel or aluminum? , oh ok so the no D is a fake? and yet another reason to ASK questions of more experienced collectors, who graciously take their time to explain, in an easy to comprehend manner, allowing other to learn as well. i didnt "pay" for that penny separately, it was one of 5 1922 cents i found in my pile of accumulated wheat back pennies, so anyway i look at it, 5 1922 d cents, and id say it was pretty exciting, even if they are d and a weak d, which it is, if nothing else, , ,as ive only scored 1 1922 penny. i truly APPRECIATE ALL of you that take the time out of your busy day, to answer some seemingly dumb questions, from someone that you owe nothing too and who hasnt contributed anything constructive, as of yet.. time will tell....

That would appear to be the clear plastic sleeves to the Dansco like coin album partly inserted and converting some of the pennies.

those old albums with the sleeves will distort, or change the color of the pennies? well, thats not good, id guess.

  • NulteNulte Posts: 131 ✭✭

oh i got it they were partially removed, and are opaque in color

how about the 4.1 gram blank that people were talking about? did they find out if it was a jewelry item or something along those lines?
