Toned Peace Dollar

I ran across this the other day. This Peace Dollar was stored in a small leather pouch along with 3-4 other silver dollars. It has nIce colors but would probably not straight grade. Interesting example either way.

Do you know how long they were stored that way?

I think it was in there for a while. Someone brought it in along with some very common 90%, Franklin Mint stuff, dateless Buffaloes, etc.
I don't think it was put in the leather pouch for any toning experiment, just somewhere to put a few silver dollars. It just as easily could have toned very ugly I believe.
That’s very cool, especially the reverse!
I would likely give it a try at PCGS as part of a larger submission as there might be a chance it straight grades. Even if it does not, having a nice TrueView photo could help if the goal is to eventually sell it.
I actually like it quite a bit. I've also got a 1932 WQ that my grandfather saved from circulation upon its release and he left it on the bottom of a dresser drawer for decades, until he passed away in the early 1990s. I inherited that coin and it had changed from a brilliant white to something reminiscent to this Peace dollar. I still have it.

Interesting toning. As previously stated - real nice reverse colors.

Here's another just like it. I would only grade it 64 though.

Hmmm.........another leather pouch I presume?
