Proof silver eagles in original boxes--do you submit them for 70s?

I was at a shop yesterday that had several hundred proof silver eagles in original boxes come in. They were just going to sell the group to a wholesaler. When you buy these do you examine for possible 70s?

I wouldn't. Almost all would be 69 or 70 grade most likely.

I've done this for the LCS that I help out at. Before we wholesale the PF ASE I look through the dates that are worth submitting for a 70 to see if there is anything there. I'm usually pretty hard on them when grading and even then, the last submission I went 3/6.

thats 50 50 typical guessing odds so you went average by guessing not bad
It's not 50-50. Many more will grade at 69 than 70. I think Kliao did pretty well.
If you prescreen coins for grading and only go 50/50, you need to reassess your grading skills. Gotta tighten up your standards and learn your “audience” (tpg company) and how they grade.
A good starting goal to shoot for is at least 80%. You start wasting money on grading that can be used to buy additional inventory.
